How to get glowing skin this summer

Glowing skin

There is nothing like waking up in the morning knowing you’ve got beautiful, clear skin. You know the feeling when you just cannot stop taking selfies because your skin looks so good? If you want to have clear skin and achieve that glow that every single girl is talking about in Instagram, then you are in the right place. In today’s blog post I am going to go over how you can achieve that sunset glowing skin that’s selfie ready this summer!

  1. Find out what your skin type is.

Before you even apply anything to your skin it is extremely important to know what your skin type is. Skin types include oily, dry, or combination. Most often stores like Ulta and Sephora have experts within the store who can tell you what your skin type is. You can also do some research online or visit a dermatologist to get a more concrete answer as to what it may be. Once you know your skin type you can optimize the products you choose by targeting specific needs for your skin.

  1. Moisturize daily.

It is extremely important to use moisturizer on your skin everyday especially if you want to achieve a glowing look. Dry skin looks cracked and dull, so hydrating your face twice a day is what will give it that extra boost you are looking for. It is also important to find a moisturizer with SPF in the summer months to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun.

  1. Use a gentle cleanser.

Many dermatologists have stated that using a gentle and hydrating cleanser during the summer months is important in order to achieve the glowy look. When you use a harsh cleanser, it strips your skin of its natural oils, making it dry and irritated. A light facial cleanser from Dove is probably one of the best and cheapest products to use during the summer months.

  1. Start using face masks.

The skincare industry has expanded the amount of face masks available in the last five years. Using a hydrating face mask even just a couple nights a week can really help you achieve the glow you’ve been wanting. You can put on one every other night while you watch your favorite Netflix show and be able to wake up with that perfect glow the next morning.

  1. Try using a Vitamin C Serum.

Vitamin C is such a magical product to use for your skin! Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant when applied to the skin and helps to protect against free radicals and chemical particles which can cause massive breakouts on your skin. Free radicals can come from the sun, pollution, and even our computer and phone screens.

  1. Add a Toner to your Skincare Routine.

You should apply toner to your skincare routine before putting on any serums, moisturizer, or makeup. Toner allows moisturizers, serums, or any other products that you put on your face to penetrate deeper. This will help all the other products I mentioned before to really give your skin all the goodness it needs. If you are someone with oily skin using a drying toner like witch hazel or salicylic acid is best. If you are someone with dry skin, using a clarifying tone with glycerin or ceramides would be best for your skin type.
